Matthew 16:13 - 17

Thou art the Christ the Son of The Living God, that is a revelation from God The Father.

Colossians 1:27 - 28 IN CHRIST

There is something very revolutionary here if you can appreciate it!

2 Corinthians 5:16 - 17 IN CHRIST

What does this mean?

When Jesus of Nazareth was born in the flesh he got his physical body from his mother Mary of Nazareth.

When Jesus of Nazareth went to Calvary he did so as the Son of Man to die for all mankind.

When The Holy Spirit gave Him back life He was raised from the dead not as Jesus of Nazareth but as The Christ the Son of The Living God.

Paul never mentions Jesus of Nazareth in his epistles, other than alluding to His death burial and resurrection.

What he said in 2 Cor 5:16 KJV Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

Was Though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet henceforth we know Him no more

But in his letters Paul talked about Jesus constantly but only as Christ in us!

We mostly want to keep using the name Jesus of Nazareth but Paul made it clear we are not to know Him after the flesh.

He is NOT JESUS OF NAZARETH ANY LONGER, HE DIED AND WAS RAISED AGAIN AS THE CHRIST THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD.

We have to learn to stay away from a do-er religion as the Old Testament and the Four Gospels showed us.

If we are to no longer know Him after the flesh we are certainly not to live by those stories of the people who lived by the law.

Yet we can be blessed by the Old Testament, because you can see Jesus in many types and also you can get understanding as to how The Father deals with people under a specific jurisdiction, that is as people who were rebels by nature, they never had the life of God in them.

God had to speak to His people in Ezekiel and tell them

Ezek 36:25 - 28 Read

Here God tells the people that they have gone their own ways, and it is not in them to do good, so he will put his life into them, giving them a change of heart and putting His Spirit into them, this He did of course at Calvary.

What I want you to get a hold of today is that Christ the Son of God was in Jesus of Nazareth the son of Mary of Nazareth just the same way He is in you and I today.

Paul says in Galatians 2:20 NIV I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of god, who loved me and gave himself for me.

As I have travelled the world over the past 16 years, I have met literally thousands, perhaps millions of Christians. Most of them are 'trying' to be happy about their Christian experience. But their words and actions show that they are not so. Happiness depends on what is "happening' around about you.

That means that the circumstances around about determine your spiritual state rather than God's Word about the situation you find yourself in.

One of Satan's greatest traps is to cause you to mind the things of the flesh but the flesh does not feed the spirit and the spirit does not feed the flesh.

Romans 8:5 - 9

Galatians 5:17.

Galatians 6:8.

There can be no doubt that Paul showed that to combine the mind and the body is fleshly or carnal. He shows that giving the body a worldly mind brings about lust and carnality.

This is a reason why so many Christians produce death instead of live.

There are three kinds of believers today, they are :

TRUE BELIEVERS

UNBELIEVERS

MAKE BELIEVERS.

Which are you today?

1 John 4:17 Read

Note this verse, it does not say we are to be like Him!

As He is so am I to God!

That is how God The Father sees me today, AS JESUS!

As He is so am I!

You have to let these truths grip your spirit!

Until you get these truths deep into your life you will ever only be trying to get what you already have and trying to be what you already are!

Because He is I have resurrection!

I am the bread of life

Because He is I have bread!

He did not say He gives bread He says He is the bread of life.

Because He is I have!

He did not say He gives light He said He is light!

What I am teaching you tonight is called POSITIONAL TEACHING. It is about our position according to God's Word not according to our feelings.

This position is perfect from The Father's point of view. God sees us as perfect in Christ.

John 6:63 KJV It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

1 Cor 15:57 KJV But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible shows FOUR benefits of seeking God's presence:

The 1st. Benefit JOY!

Psa 16:11 KJV Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

It is impossible not to experience joy in our lives when we are in God's presence. There is a joy in the presence of The Lord and this joy is a spiritual force and it is spiritual strength [Nehemiah 8.10].

The 2nd. Is GREAT LIGHT!

Psa 89:15 NIV Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD.

God is light and wherever He is there is illumination and revelation.

Psa 119:130 NIV The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

In any area of your life if there is a difficulty or darkness invite the presence of God into that area by His Word and He will light that area up for you, and give you understanding about it! Because the entrance of His Word gives light that means in His presence you will have Revelation Knowledge.

The 3rd. Benefit is DIVINE PROTECTION!

As you seek His presence there is DIVINE PROTECTION.

Psa 31:20 KJV Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Thank God for His presence, everybody needs a hiding place, a place of safety and refuge from the strife of other people's tongues. The very presence of God provides a shelter for you today from the wagging tongues of those who would speak evil against you.

If you are troubled by what people say about you, invite God's presence into those circumstances. His presence can protect you while you are in the circumstances.

If you work in a negative atmosphere, in which people are creating problems by their words for you, invite The presence of The creator into that situation and He will be a shelter, a hiding place in the time of storms right there in the midst of the storm.

Isa 54:9 KJV For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

Isa 54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

Isa 54:11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

Isa 54:12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.

Isa 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Isa 54:14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

Isa 54:15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

Isa 54:16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

So being in God's presence gives protection from gossip. It cannot harm you if you are close to Him.

The 4th. Benefit of seeking God's Presence is REST!

1 John 3:19 NIV This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence

This is the place of great peace and rest in His presence, free from trouble, anxiety, nervousness, worry, anxiety, all flee from His presence.

Invite Him in and rest.

The problem with most of God's people is this THEY HAVE BEEN SEEKING HIS PRESENTS RATHER THAN HIS PRESENCE.

Learn the secret of His abiding presence Jesus said in John 14:16

John 14:16 KJV And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

You can experience His presence with you wherever and whenever you need to have that assurance.

Just remember God is always near, he is just a prayer away, and He has a plan for your life, for good and not for evil to give you a hope and an expected end [Jeremiah 29:11].

If you want to get the most out of your day, I suggest these three things:

[1] CONCENTRATE ON YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT YOUR RIGHTS.

It's an imperfect world, and you won't always be treated fairly; that's just a fact of life today.

If you want to go far, travel light spiritually; release and unload your resentments!

Paul says, Philippians 4:8" . . . you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious - the best, not the worst . . . "

[2] SPEND TIME WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE.

The only difference in what you are now and what you'll be five years from now is the books you read and the company you keep. Henry Ford once said, "My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me."

What do your friends bring out in you?

Solomon said in Proverbs 13:2 "He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."

[3] YOU CAN MAKE TODAY THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE.

When Shirley Temple asked her mother what the happiest moment in her life was, she replied, "Right now."

"But what about the day you were married?" Shirley asked.

Her mum said, "My happiest moment then was then, but my happiest moment now is now. You see, you can live only in the moment you're in, so to me that's the happiest moment."

That's a great answer!

Lamentations 3.23 'His mercies are new every morning."

Psalm 68:19 "He daily loadeth us with benefits"

That means you should get up every day and announce,

Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it."

Proverbs 30.18-19 KJV

18 There are three things too wonderful for me to understand--no, four!

19 How an eagle glides through the sky. How a serpent crawls upon a rock. How a ship finds its way across the heaving ocean. The growth of love between a man and a girl.

If you want to soar with the eagles, you can't play about with the turkeys in the barnyard.

I wonder where you are in your faith walk with The Lord today?

Are you an eagle or a turkey?

Eagles soar up on the wind currents high above while turkeys just flap their wings and make a dust in the barnyard.

Psalm 103.1-5 Living Bible

103:1 I bless the holy name of God with all my heart.

2 Yes, I will bless the Lord and not forget the glorious things he does for me.

3 He forgives all my sins. He heals me.

4 He ransoms me from hell. He surrounds me with loving-kindness and tender mercies.

5 He fills my life with good things! My youth is renewed like the eagle's!

Your strength can be renewed so you are not tired and worn out!

Isaiah 40.29-31 Living Bible

29 He gives power to the tired and worn out, and strength to the weak.

30 Even the youths shall be exhausted, and the young men will all give up.

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Matthew 24.23-29 KJV

23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

25 Behold, I have told you before.

26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

v28 again For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Eagles flying high up in the sky sometimes many miles up can spot a carcase, and swoop down to get fed when it suits them.

Turkeys have to rely on the farmer to feed them!

Where are you today still flapping in the barnyard waiting for a handout from the farmer or are you seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus?

Then in Numbers 13 and 14 there is a story of the spies.

How many spies? 12

10 brought back and evil [negative] report

2 brought back a good [positive] report,

The two heros of the story are Joshua and Caleb.

Chapter 13. 25-33

25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

26 And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.

27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

10 spies saw the giants and felt like grasshoppers but two looked to God and the giants looked like grasshoppers.

Did you know that grasshoppers had five sets of eyes?

Forward, rearwards left and right and down. They have no UPWARD vision!

You see you're not what you think you are but what you think….you are!

Proverbs 23.7 KJV For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:

Numbers 13.33 again And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Then in Exodus 8 we have the story of the plagues sent on the Egyptians when they refused to let God's people go.

Exodus 8.1 Living Bible

8:1 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go in again to Pharaoh and tell him, 'Jehovah says, "Let my people go and worship me.

2 If you refuse, I will send vast hordes of frogs across your land from one border to the other.

3 The Nile River will swarm with them, and they will come out into your houses, even into your bedrooms and right into your beds! Every home in Egypt will be filled with them. They will fill your ovens and your kneading bowls;

4 you and your people will be immersed in them!"'"

5 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Instruct Aaron to point the rod toward all the rivers, streams, and pools of Egypt, so that there will be frogs in every corner of the land."

6 Aaron did, and frogs covered the nation.

7 But the magicians did the same with their secret arts, and they, too, caused frogs to come up upon the land.

8 Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and begged, "Plead with God to take the frogs away, and I will let the people go and sacrifice to him."

9 "Be so kind as to tell me when you want them to go," Moses said, "and I will pray that the frogs will die at the time you specify, everywhere except in the river."

10 "Do it tomorrow," Pharaoh said. "All right," Moses replied, "it shall be as you have said; then you will know that there is no one like the Lord our God.

Note v9….WHEN?

Note v10..TOMORROW will be fine, I don't mind the frogs for another day in my bed, and my oven and my baking bowl. Every time I turn over there is another set of those beady eyes looking at me! BUT TOMORROW WILL DO!

My question is why would anyone want to keep the curse for another day longer than he needs to?

Get rid of those frogs NOW!

What's your frog?

Sickness?

Worry?

Fear?

Poverty?

Wrong habits?

If you let them go you can soar with the eagles as God intended!

Proverbs 29.1 NIV A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed--without remedy.

2 Cor 5.17 Living Bible When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!

That means the old is gone, all that related to Adam's nature is gone when you join up with Jesus. The past has disappeared you have no past.

The New Creation HAS NO PAST.

The turkeys, grasshoppers and frogs are gone only the eagles remain!
