These Three - Faith Hope Love!

Posted By at Wednesday, November 14, 2018

1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

Faith, Hope and Love [that is God's kind of love 'agape' love] are all Godly attributes.

Satan possesses none of these and hates everyone who does possess them.

I wonder as we go the rest of 2018, are we allowing these qualities to overflow in our lives?

God is the God of faith, the God of all hope, and God is love. These are His characteristics.

Those who genuinely possess these qualities are God possessed, for these only come from and through the Lord Himself.

Galatians 5:6 says “Faith works by love.”

Many people in today's society sometimes lack these Godly qualities, but they have existed since God breathed His life into man and they will be here as long as He continues to live in men's hearts. They abide regardless of political systems.

Men, however, under the direction of the devil, have tried to eradicate them, but their efforts have fallen short and always will.

* Love never fails according to 1 Cor 13:8

* Our Faith overcomes the world according to 1 John 5:4

* By Hope we are saved according to Romans 8:24

These are the qualities that give our lives meaning and great enjoyment.

These characteristics distinguish men from animals. Remove them and people begin to act like wild animals, as is happening in many places today.

However, when Jesus injects faith, hope, and love into the vilest heart, then it can be melted and reshaped in the image of God. Living without faith, hope and love diminishes the quality of life.

Satan seeks to strip men and women of these three God-like qualities while God never wants us to be without them. There is constant warfare between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness over these three special virtues.

Today, why not let God fill you with His faith, His hope and His love and then be a channel through which He can release these virtues to those who need faith; those who need hope and those who are starving for true agape love.

We must all determine to be all that God has already planned for us to be!

Not Only a Hearer But a Doer of the Word

Posted By at Wednesday, November 07, 2018

James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Luke 6:46 "But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say."

The Word of God is the Bible Speaking directly to each of us! The Bible is The Word of God that is all the Promises paid in full by the Blood of The Lord Jesus Christ for each of us - once and for all time! The Bible is the Instruction Manual for each and every Christian. The Lord Jesus Christ only confirms His Written Word. If what we are seeking is not in His Word, He will not confirm or answer it. Hearing the Word of God without possessing and becoming a doer of the Word will make our faith, powerless and dead.

James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

James 2:17-18 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

A farmer can have a complete knowledge of every facet of bringing in an abundant harvest. But if he doesn't take that knowledge and apply it with to action, his fields will still be empty. The Word of God requires us to take action, to possess the Promises of Jesus Christ through a Living Faith in Him and His Word!

Luke 8:21 But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

The more we read (see) hear (listen), meditate (muse, mutter & ponder) and act (do) the Word of God, then the Greater our Faith will be. The Lord Jesus Christ confirms our living Faith with power through His Word!

The more time we spend in His Word the more we will know Him and possess His promises.

Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house and it fell. And great was its fall.”

Mark 4:24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given."

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

So we must start doing what the Word says, and not just listening to it and so deceiving ourselves, and we will grow to be what God planned.

Daily Help!

Posted By at Wednesday, October 31, 2018

If we want to get the most out of our day, I suggest these three things:

1. CONCENTRATE ON RESPONSIBILITIES AND NOT RIGHTS.

It's an imperfect world, and we won't always be treated fairly; that's just a fact of life today. If we want to go far, travel light spiritually; we need to release and unload our resentments!

Paul says in Philippians 4:8 " . . . you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious - the best, not the worst . . . "

2. SPEND TIME WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE.

The only difference in what we are now and what we'll be five years from now is the books we read and the company we keep.

Henry Ford once said, "My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me."

So what do your friends bring out in you?

Solomon said in Proverbs 13:2 "He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."

3. MAKE TODAY THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE.

When Shirley Temple asked her mother what the happiest moment in her life was, she replied, "Right now."

"But what about the day you were married?" Shirley asked.

Her mother said, "My happiest moment then was then, but my happiest moment now is now. You see, you can live only in the moment you're in, so to me that's the happiest moment."

That's a great answer!

Lamentations 3:23 His mercies are new every morning.

Psalm 68:19 He daily loadeth us with benefits.

That means we should get up every day and announce Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it."

Don't Be Anxious

Posted By at Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

When our hearts are anxious and filled with cares, we are trusting in our own strength and understanding.

Anxiety will take our hearts and minds off the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word. He is waiting for us to call upon Him for help!

Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

When we go to the Lord with our prayers and then thank Him in advance for the victory. Then our hearts will enter into the realm of His worry free peace. The Lord cannot help us unless we give Him all of our cares and worries.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Hebrews 4:16 Shows us how to approach God, Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Once we give Him our cares, then He can move mightily on our behalf! The greatest obstacle to receiving from God Almighty is trusting in our own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

We trust in Him and not our understanding, for the victory.

When we pray, we cast all of our cares on Him and start thanking Him in advance for the victory. At that moment in time, the peace of God that surpasses all of our understanding will surround our hearts, life and minds. We will be in His glorious presence of peace instead of the midst of the storms and cares of life. In His presence is the fullness of joy.

1 Peter 5:7 Amplified Bible Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 "...in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Psalm 106:1 Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Hebrews 10:23 "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."

Confession here is 'homologia' in Greek, which means saying the same thing God says in His Word.

Your Words are Your Faith Speaking

Posted By at Wednesday, October 17, 2018

Do you realise when you speak your faith is talking?

Jesus said in Matthew 12:34 "For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."

Whatever we have put in our hearts will eventually come out of our mouths. What we ‘believe’ will be coming out of our mouths, whether positive or negative.

The Apostle Paul put it this way in 2 Corinthians 4:13 "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, "I believed, and therefore have I spoken," we also believe, and therefore speak."

The point I want to make is; whatever is in your heart will be coming out of your mouth and that, whatever it is, will be you releasing your faith, whether you can accept that view or not.

So with that thought we need to be careful what we are saying, because we are guiding and charting our course in life by our words.

Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinketh in his heart so is he!

Eventually what we think, we will begin to speak out of our mouths and so we become what we say!

Proverbs 4:23 Good New Bible Be careful what you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.

It's important to discipline our vocabulary because the things that occupy our thoughts will come to pass as we talk about them. They become our words of faith! Whatever you say is your faith speaking!!

Romans 10:8 Living Bible For salvation that comes from trusting Christ—which is what we preach—is already within easy reach of each of us; in fact, it is as near as our own hearts and mouths.

Proverbs 18:21 Living Bible Those who love to talk will suffer the consequences. Men have died for saying the wrong thing!

Think about that ,"Men have died for saying the wrong thing!"

That is a powerful statement from the Word; and unfortunately there are many people who have already died because they made wrong statements in their lives, & those statements came to pass. It is very important what we say.

I know many Christians who believe that their words are not important, but many of them seem to be in some sort of difficulty.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit!

Do you realize today that The Word going INTO your life produces fruit? And it's The Word coming OUT again that produces faith!

So it's your choice what you are going to say. Your words are containers for good or bad, positivity or negativity.

There is tremendous power in words because we are made in God's image. Whether they are written words, spoken words, or words set to music. Words will lead you along the right path or take you down the wrong path in life. We live by words; we speak them, we read them, we even think them. We communicate with words every day. People who speak negative words will eventually reap the results of speaking those words, because they reproduce after their own kind; failure, defeat and sorrow and even death!

They can be filled with ungodliness - hate, doubt, fear, and unbelief. Or they can be filled with godliness - love, joy, peace, happiness, and faith.

Words can curse, or words can bless.

Words can discourage, or they can encourage.

Words can wound, or they can make whole.

Words filled with the power of God will linger with you and literally change your life.

The words you hear will either help you along life's path or hinder you!
Words can build confidence into people, or words can destroy faith and confidence in people.

Biting or stinging words spoken in the morning by a husband or wife can rob them both of efficiency throughout the day. But loving, tender and beautiful words will fill their day with strength that leads them to victory.

Why is it that some families grow up strong and stable, always winning in life?

One reason is that right words were spoken at home. The atmosphere in our homes is a product of our words.

What are you building into your children, friends, associates and colleagues? Are you building failure and defeat? Or are you building success and victory?

We cannot afford to talk failure.

Remember; when you speak it is YOUR faith talking!

Faith and Fear the Same Force

Posted By at Wednesday, October 10, 2018

Here at Family Faith Centre I talk a lot about faith, and the fact that God says we can't please Him without it in Hebrews 11:6.

What I mean is that we should have faith in the completed work of Jesus at Calvary for us. As we believe it and take it into our lives, it becomes an act of faith - and that is what pleases God.

Today, I want to help you understand that FAITH and FEAR are the same spiritual force just pulling in opposite directions.

When a person is hearing and speaking God's Word, they are releasing a force call FAITH - and that is the substance of the things that they hope for.

But the reciprocal is also true; when a person is hearing and speaking the words that emanate from the devil, they are releasing a force called FEAR - and that is the substance of the things they don't want.

Remember that FEAR means FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL so is a deception. I understand that the Word of God has about 365 references that say "DO NOT FEAR"; one for each day of the year.

So lets all think about what I am saying; just as FAITH is the substance of things we desire, FEAR is the substance of things you do not desire! That's why we have to resist talking like the devil and the world and talk only like God.

James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Job 22:28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Whatever we decree [say] we are establishing in our lives!

Job said in Job 3:25 NLT "What I always feared has happened to me. What I dreaded has come true."

The devil will use fear to keep us out of all that God is trying to get us into. He tries to get us to concentrate on and speak what you see and hear and feel, instead of what God says about us in His Word.

So how can we overcome this fear tactic he brings? We do what Jesus said when He was also tempted by the devil.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 NKJ But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

As we start speaking God's Word, faith will be released into our situations and we will have faith to please Him.

Walk By Faith Not By Sight

Posted By at Wednesday, October 03, 2018

The message contained in this Blog is simple yet very profound, and is the basic message of faith to the church today.

So many Christians have the attitude: I’ll believe it when I see it.

But God’s Word teaches us to believe it first and then you’ll see it.

In other words we are to walk by faith in God’s Word first, before we actually see anything with our physical eyes.

In John 8:32 Jesus said, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

What Jesus meant there was a working knowledge of truth would keep us free from the wiles of the enemy, who was out to trap us.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:5-10 "Now He, who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

Now notice some very important things Paul says here. Vs. 7 "For we walk by FAITH, not by SIGHT."

Many of us walk by our sight [senses] and not by what God says in His Word at various times in our lives. Sometimes, we wait for our bodies to show signs of healing before we confess we are healed. Then, other times we wait for the $XXX to show up in our bank account before we confess we have our inheritance and all we need financially.

REMEMBER this thought - Faith is what you have when you don’t have what you want.

What I want you to understand today is, walking by faith is in fact walking by INSIGHT, rather than by sight.

Be Careful Whom You Associate With

Posted By at Wednesday, September 26, 2018

I'm sure you have heard the expression, 'They were all tarred with the same brush.'

If we are going to have the best out of life we need to watch out for bad associations. Sometimes the people we associate with can have such an influence on us that we become like them, and we may not even recognise it.

Colin Powell said, "The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve.
Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An
important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are. Friends that don't help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you."

[General Colin Luther Powell, United States Army (Ret.) KCB (Honorary) is an American politician. He was the 65th United States Secretary of State (2001-2005), serving under President George W. Bush. He was the first Jamaican American appointed to that position. As a General in the United States Army, Powell also served as National Security Advisor (1987–1989) and as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1989–1993), holding the latter position during the Gulf War.]

Prov 4:7 Stay away from fools, for you won't find knowledge on their lips.

Prov 9:6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Prov 13:20 (The Passion Translation) If you want to grow in wisdom, spend time with the wise. Walk with the wicked and you’ll eventually become just like them.

Sometimes unknowingly we can begin to imitate those we spend time with. Sometimes we have to know when to stop associating with certain individuals. That takes both wisdom and courage.

1 Cor 5:11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one.

2 Thess 3:6 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: Stay away from all believers who live idle lives and don’t follow the tradition they received from us.

These words were written by the Apostle Paul, under the influence of The Holy Spirit to the believers in Thessalonica.  Paul was both admonishing them and warning them not to associate with non-believers. They were to tell the non-believers what The Word of God says. If they chose not to accept it, then the believers were to keep away from them.

Psalm 1:1-6 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

So today, can I ask you who is having an influence on your life?

Invicible Faith

Posted By at Wednesday, September 19, 2018

Oswald Chambers said, "For the past 300 years men have been pointing out how similar Jesus Christ’s teachings are to other good teachings. We have to remember that Christianity, if it is not a supernatural miracle, is just a sham."

Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives and He shall stand at last on the earth.

Faith in Jesus Christ, if it is genuine, is the strongest force known to the human race. In fact, it's possible to possess a faith that is, for all practical purposes, invincible.

Invincible faith is not merely the intellectual acceptance of the fact that Jesus is the Son of God. No, the power to withstand great hardship comes from believing that, as the Son of God, Jesus Christ has gained complete victory over every form of evil and injustice. The person who truly believes that will not be defeated by anything that happens in their life.

Toward the end of Revelation we have this description of one of John's visions in Revelation 19:11-16 "Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called the Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: King of kings and Lord of lords."

Invincible faith comes not from finding a way to be unconquerable within ourselves, but from disciplining our minds to believe in the fact that our King Jesus is unconquerable. It is not possible that He ever was defeated and this truth is well attested by everything that has ever been known about Him. When, in the face of any opposition, we choose to believe that the ultimate victory is His, then we adopt a faith that the devil can do little to vanquish. It is to us that Jesus Christ says in Rev 3:21 "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."

Let His Mind Be In You

Posted By at Wednesday, September 12, 2018

Phil 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.

1 Cor 2:16 But we have the mind of Christ.

It's important in these last days that we all begin to think like Christ.

There has been so much teaching around about being a servant of God but you can't think like a servant and live like a son!

To become God-Inside Minded is the first step for us to begin to live like victors. As soon as we become God-inside conscious, we will begin to depend upon the God inside of us.

1 John 4:4 Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

1 John 4:16 And we know and have believed the love which God hath in our case. God is love; and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

There comes a holy boldness in knowing that; a Jesus-like fearlessness. No matter what happens, He is inside and He will take us to the other side. We have His ability, His courage, and His strength. It takes us out of the failure realm and puts us over into the realm of success.

Romans 5:17 NLT For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.

We have received His Righteousness. We have received the abundance of His grace. We reign as kings in life. God never intended that we should be servants or have a servile spirit.

Love takes us out of the Servant-mind up into the Son-mind.

The old inferiority complex that comes from Sin-consciousness has been destroyed. Son-consciousness has taken its place.

You cannot keep a servant spirit and enjoy the reality of being a son.

We are masters, we are conquerors, we already are over-comers because we are one with Him.

We have his ability, His wisdom, His strength and His love.

Spiritually we are already free men and women. We abide in God and He abides in us.
